About The Position

The Seasonal Tax Preparer will provide individual income tax preparation services for designated Church employees from mid-January to mid-April. This is a flexible schedule position, requiring approximately 30-40 hours per week, with the work location at the Church Office Building in downtown Salt Lake City. This role has the potential to be an annual recurring seasonal position. Church employees find joy and satisfaction in using their unique talents and abilities to further the Lord’s work. From the IT professional who develops an app that sends the gospel message worldwide, to the facilities manager who maintains our buildings— giving Church members places to worship, teach, learn, and receive sacred ordinances—our employees seek innovative ways to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the world. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field - or working toward one - with a well-grounded understanding of tax theory.
  • Prior experience preparing tax returns, specifically Form 1040 and related forms and schedules.
  • Ability to manage multiple returns simultaneously and complete tasks efficiently within tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to interact courteously and effectively with others in day-to-day working relationships, including requesting and providing information as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Handles sensitive client and financial information with the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with tax preparation software is helpful but not required.
