About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining the General Ledger, serving as the JVDAS Administrator, and performing monthly Hyperion submissions and P&L tie-outs. The Accountant Principal will also prepare and present monthly balance sheet variance analysis, analyze the monthly Trial Balance, and serve as the Accounting Lead for year-end and half-year close activities. Key responsibilities include preparing financial reporting packs, flash reporting, recording journal entries, reconciling accounts, and coordinating accruals. The position provides extensive support for internal and external audits, completes control self-assessments, and supports the monthly subledger close process. Additionally, the role acts as the Accounting Lead for Lease Accelerator software, serves as a backup HFM subject matter expert, and leads JVDAS and Business Acumen training initiatives. The Accountant Principal will also support the General Accounting Manager with special projects and ad hoc responsibilities.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience; alternatively, a master’s degree and 4 years of work experience.
Previous experience in Accounting.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse work teams.
Capability to develop and maintain professional and effective relationships with internal and external customers.
Ability to prioritize and self-manage a multi-tasked workload in a fast-paced environment.
Experience communicating and presenting financial data to other functions in an accurate, concise, and understandable manner.

Responsibilities

Maintain the General Ledger, including opening and closing accounts and subledger modules.
Serve as the JVDAS Administrator and second-level approver for all manual journal entries.
Complete monthly Hyperion submissions and perform the monthly Hyperion to Oracle P&L tie out.
Prepare and present monthly balance sheet variance analysis for the segment.
Analyze the monthly Trial Balance and present findings to management.
Serve as the Accounting Lead for year-end and half-year close activities, including coordinating data requests, leading finance team meetings, and managing the overall close schedule.
Prepare, consolidate, and present the Sector Supplementary Information Pack to management for half-year and -year-end financial reporting.
Prepare and consolidate the Sector flash reporting for half-year and year-end.
Prepare and record recurring monthly journal entries, including lease-related entries.
Complete monthly General Ledger account reconciliations.
Coordinate and prepare half year and year-end manual accruals, including rate calculations for estimated accruals.
Provide extensive support for internal and external audits.
Complete quarterly control self-assessments in Archer.
Support the monthly Sunday subledger close process in Oracle. This includes training new team members on the Sunday close process, coordinating the team members assigned each month, working on the Sunday close on assigned dates, and serving and the primary point of contact for Sunday close issues.
Serve was Accounting Lead for Lease Accelerator software by partnering with sector points of contact, facility finance teams, and real estate team to ensure compliance with IFRS 16 and FAP requirements.
Act as backup HFM subject matter expert by developing proficiency in month-end and year-end financial reporting, supporting the HFM lead, and helping mitigate single point of failure risk.
Cross train team members on HFM and financial reporting processes.
Lead JVDAS and Business Acumen training initiatives, including coordinating and facilitating the annual JVDAS refresher course and presenting the financial accounting portion of the Business Acumen course.
Support the General Accounting Manager with Special projects and other ad hoc responsibilities.
