We are looking for an experienced, dynamic accountant who is willing to tackle a variety of challenges and projects across the company. You will have exposure to many aspects of the business and coordinates with a number of divisions including merchandising, operations, project and fixed assets accounting, tax accounting, accounts payable, and plant accounting teams. Ag Processing Inc is a cooperatively-owned agribusiness engaged in procuring, processing, marketing, and transporting of oilseeds, grains, and related products. Since our creation in 1983, AGP has grown in size, scope, and reputation – both in the U.S. and internationally. Our company has become the largest soybean processing cooperative in the world and has a diverse set of products, which includes renewable fuels, vegetable oil refining, ag products/grain, and international operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2 years of accounting experience
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Knowledge of the agricultural production industry preferred
- Strong attention to detail, deadlines, planning, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Skill in using Microsoft Office products required
- Possesses a high degree of integrity and trust
Nice To Haves
- knowledge of Oracle general ledger system desired but not required
Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, distribute various financial statements and operational reports for management, applications for external agencies and organizations
- Maintain financial records of the organization by entering journal entries and reconciling various general ledger accounts
- Ability to communicate effectively with other departments
- Assist the Accounting Manager in maintaining the daily functions of the department
- Assist in developing accounting systems and controls
- Performs other special projects and duties as assigned by management
