About The Position

This position is responsible for recording oil and gas revenue associated with Texas properties, processing natural gas plant allocations, and coordinating with the regulatory team to remit and report severance taxes for oil and gas sales, Federal and State royalties. The role also involves preparing monthly revenue accruals, processing invoices, monitoring pipeline imbalances, analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, and supporting audits. Additionally, the Accountant III will review and process division of interest changes received from Land Administration, respond to royalty owner inquiries, and work on special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution, including core accounting coursework.
  • 3+ years of experience in oil and gas revenue accounting or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong understanding and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to present data clearly and accurately.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proficient with MS Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL and MS Query a plus.
