Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, finance or business administration; or
  • Two (2) years of professional or nonprofessional accounting experience.
  • Skill in providing customer service on the phone and in person.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting the Accountant IV with processing Travel and Travel batches.
  • Responsible for the accurate retention, timely filing and matching of vouchers to Paid Journal Transfers in AIMS. This will include the pulling and combining correctly of the audit packets for submission to the Chief Financial Officer’s upload Site for pending vouchers, verifying all the necessary documentation is included, the correct amount and the correct vendor is reflected against invoicing.
  • Responsible for assisting the Professional Accountant with batching DMS Suncom and Annual Parking invoices and interest penalty invoices that require payment, if needed.
  • Responsible for coordinating with the bureau's Records Management Liaison for accurate retention of the department's vouchers according to the Records Retention Schedule and assisting with new accessions, retrievals and refiling of archived vouchers and requesting permission for shredding hardcopy vouchers when required record retention exceeded.
  • Responsible for assisting with batching refunds as needed and handling special handling refunds such as large amounts, Security Deposit Returns and Bond Refunds.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and requested.
