Requirements

  • Three (3) years (36 months) of work experience and/or training in Accounting or a closely related field, OR College course work and/or training in Accounting or a closely related field including 12 semester hours in accounting (30 semester hours equals one year, Associate Degree equals 18 months, 90-semester hours equals two years, Bachelor's Degree or higher equals three years).
  • Two (2) years (24 months) of experience in professional level accounting work consistent with the next lower level of this series.

  • Computer knowledge (Working knowledge of computers, computer systems, and accounting software).

  • Written composition skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an auxiliary/retail operation accounting department.
  • An advanced degree in accountancy or registration as a Certified Public Accountant may be substituted for one year of professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers, prepares, interprets, and analyzes a wide variety of sales and financial reports each month for leadership to utilize in making sound operational decisions.
  • Prepares monthly and annual accrual financial statements.
  • Assists with annual/quarterly budget preparation.
  • Supervises the cash handling operation of the office.
  • Assists with student meal plan issues.
  • Oversees vending commissions and vending issues across campus.
  • Prepares internal and external accounts receivable billings.
  • Reviews/approves monthly electronic time/leave records for employees.
