About The Position

This position maintains the General Ledger, prepares financial statements, and performs account analysis. The Accountant II interprets and analyzes financial reports for various management personnel. The Accountant II reviews, interprets, and analyzes financial and statistical data for Management. They prepare monthly general and standard journal entries, financial statements and comparative reports, monthly account reconciliations, and cost reports. The role involves developing special reports and financial analyses as needed or requested for administration and finance, and analyzing financial reports and records for financial studies and various management reports. Additionally, the Accountant II reviews and verifies financial reports prepared by other accountants for accuracy, oversees the coding and input of data to the financial data processing system, and serves as a consultant regarding the hospital's financial affairs, development of operating policies and procedures, and department needs and problems. The position requires interaction with outside auditors, participation in occasional auditing projects, and providing information and access to general ledger and other accounting records as required. The Accountant II prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for federal, state, or other regulatory agencies. They attend meetings and participate on committees as directed, and represent the department at conferences, meetings, and working committees as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field of study.
  • Three (3) years accounting, finance or related experience
  • Able to simultaneously handle multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical, conceptual skills
