About The Position

The Accountant II is responsible for assisting in the completion of assignments, including tax returns, year-end compilations, and other accounting projects. This role works under the supervision of Managers, Senior Managers, or Shareholders, with all work reviewed prior to distribution. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university.
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting field.
  • Excellent computer skills, including spreadsheets; the ability to problem solve; attention to detail, and good organizational skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to work as a team member and under close supervision of other accounting staff.
  • Must provide excellent and timely client/customer service at all times.
  • Candidate must successfully pass background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Meets the Montana State Board of Public Accountant’s requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA examination, preferred.
  • Public accounting experience and/or internship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of information related to client, staff, and Firm’s internal operations during and after employment with JCCS.
  • Assists with tax returns by processing organizers, entering data into the tax software, and responsible for completion of information, prior to review.
  • Performs detailed payroll functions for clients according to deadlines, which may include check processing and quarterly payroll reports for various states and federal, for review.
  • Generates data entry for monthly and quarterly accounting and financial statements for timely deadlines and review process. Processes and distributes 1099s at year end.
  • Complies with IRS, state and federal tax requirements, wage and hour, and researches clients’ questions for accuracy and compliance.
  • Builds relationships with clients and interacts with integrity and honesty.
  • May help provide transactional support for CAS team as well as coordinate delivery of services.
  • Begins to develop marketing contacts for new clients and providing additional services for existing clients through community involvement and networking.
  • Performs other duties, responsibilities and activities as assigned.
