About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant I to join our accounting team. This role supports key accounting and financial reporting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, management reporting, and audit support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience.
  • Understanding of general ledger accounting principles and the relationship between financial statements.
  • Experience preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with accounting, operations, and other business teams.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA certification.
  • Experience with SAP or another enterprise ERP system.
  • Experience in distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, or a related industry.
  • Experience supporting external audits.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries accurately and timely.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers for financial reporting and audit requirements.
  • Research and resolve account discrepancies and reconciling items.
  • Review financial transactions for compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Assist with the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
  • Support daily, weekly, and monthly management reporting.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure financial information is accurate and complete.
  • Support external audit requests by providing documentation and account information as needed.
  • Identify and support opportunities to improve accounting processes, efficiency, and internal controls.
  • Develop a strong understanding of assigned accounting processes, systems, and financial controls.
  • Assist with special projects, ad hoc financial analysis, and other accounting initiatives as assigned.
