This classification involves accounting work in the maintenance and review of fiscal records and controls. Essential Job Functions Analyzes statistical, fiscal, and payroll records and department reports to determine the operational costs of various activities. Participates in routine accounting functions including posting, balancing and preparing special reports. Assists in preparing budget estimates and reviews encumbrances to ensure availability of funds. Performs a wide variety of accounting and clerical-related tasks. Conducts routine pre-audits of a variety of records by examining, verifying, and reviewing accounts, invoices, bills, vouchers, and other documents. Conducts change-fund audits and implements procedures to ensure proper controls are in place. Prepares invoices and chargebacks for payment and accounts receivable/payable. Makes deposits to appropriate accounts and may be required to deliver deposits to the bank using a County vehicle. Prepares a variety of journal entries, including revenue-related entries and corrective adjustments, and accruals. Manages donation receipts, maintains accurate donation account records, and prepares related budget amendments. Processes vouchers for reimbursement of Sheriff’s Deputy utilities. Reviews and verifies documentation for refund requests. Submits and tracks work orders. Assists in entering the budget into the County’s budgeting software. Performs related duties as required.
