Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted: Yes
  • May require a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License
  • Proficiency in financial analysis
  • Interpretation of financial documents
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Working with balance sheets and financial statements, journal entries, knowledge of account classifications, understand chart of accounts

Responsibilities

  • Perform general and technical accounting work for an assigned area or department.
  • Prepare, review, reconcile and submit reports and/or statements to internal departments, financial institutions, and external agencies.
  • Organize, prepare, and review budget documentation; determine revenue and expenditure coding; review expenditure and reconcile budget proceeds.
  • Prepare invoices for payment authorization; assigns expenditures to proper cost center; verifies posting of expenditures and maintains accounts payable ledger and records.
  • Enter and maintain automated and manual accounting records; perform data entry for accounting operations and verifies accuracy.
  • Prepare a variety of financial and accounting records and reports including revenue and expenditure reports, executive summaries, and aging reports.
  • Review and audit source documents and posts transactions; prepares reports and reconciles ledgers.
  • Coordinate with department to assess needs and requirements for fiscal monitoring and reporting.
  • Review data collected and monitors budgets to provide accurate and timely financial information to internal departments and outside reporting agencies.
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance to departments on fiscal policies and procedures and budget guidelines.
