About The Position

The Accountant I position supports accurate, complete, and timely client billing across all custodians. This role assists with preparing and recording journal entries, performing account reconciliations, supporting financial statement preparation, and completing ad hoc reporting as requested. The Accountant I role is well-suited for a detail-oriented professional who demonstrates strong analytical skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to follow established processes while contributing to continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Procedures (GAAP)
  • Progressive analytical knowledge and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Self-driven, independent, adaptable, detail-oriented, and creative problem-solving
  • Highly detailed, accurate, organized, and able to think beyond the current process
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business
  • 0-3 years of experience in Accounting and/or audit

Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing and reconciling client billing across all custodians and collaborate with cross-functional teams for billing-related audits, reporting, and client experience purposes
  • Prepare and record assets, liability, revenue, expense and other journal entries as requested
  • Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules – monthly/quarterly/annually as assigned
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close of the general ledger
  • Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements as requested
  • Support audit requirements including internal, external and compliance audits, assisting with the maintenance of an appropriate control environment
  • Create accurate and succinct verbal and written communications to internal departments and external partners about accounting-related information
  • Maintain complete digital files and work papers that support financial records
  • Participate in special projects individually or as part of a cross-functional team as assigned
  • Perform other accounting related tasks in support of the accounting/finance function as assigned
  • Remain knowledgeable in the policies and regulations of the regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all work activities
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information
  • Work with all other team members in a way that is conducive to the mission, values, and beliefs of the company to provide customer service beyond expectations
  • Comply with company-wide policies and SEC/FINRA regulations
