Requirements

  • Post-high school coursework or vocational education in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field OR experience in accounting functions including interpreting and analyzing financial data.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of double entry accounting concepts and procedures.
  • Knowledge of clerical accounting methods, forms and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the methods of filing and maintaining accounting records.
  • Knowledge of mathematical functions related to accounting processes.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet computer software programs.
  • Skill in gathering and compiling data into spreadsheets or data bases.
  • High attention to details and follow up skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in accounting or finance.
  • Experience with Enterprise One (E-1), OnBase, NFOCUS, and MMIS.
  • Familiarity with processing Out of State Travel Authorizations (OSTAs) and Direct Billing Authorizations (DBAs).

Responsibilities

  • Handle payments for licenses and programs and prepare deposit documents.
  • Prepare billing documents, invoices, and financial forms; record transactions in accounting systems.
  • Post data to ledgers, journals, and worksheets to maintain financial records.
  • Process invoices and contract payments through OnBase and the Enterprise One (NIS) voucher system.
  • Process Employee Expense Reimbursements (ERDs) and travel documents for payment.
  • Ensure documentation complies with DHHS and State policies and procedures.
  • Apply correct coding to ensure accurate financial statements.
  • Prepare and use spreadsheets for processing and documentation.
  • File documentation electronically or on paper for future reference.
  • Evaluate documents for policy compliance, initiate payments, and compile financial data for reports and analysis.
