This position is responsible for assisting with daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end general accounting and internal and external reporting. The Accountant will prepare month-end and miscellaneous journal entries, adhere to the department's month-end closing schedule, and be responsible for the substantiation of assigned general ledger account balances through proper account analysis and reconciliation. The role involves active interfacing with internal and external departments, agencies, and companies, preparing detailed spreadsheets, and assisting in the preparation of the annual Casino Accounting Operating Plan. The Accountant will record daily cash wire activity, prepare and input journal entries and financial reports according to GAAP and NJDGE regulations, and be responsible for daily interaction with regulatory agencies and auditors. A working knowledge of the Casino Control Act and company's Internal Controls is required, as well as adherence to departmental policies and procedures. The Accountant will work both independently and in coordination with the Casino Accounting Supervisor and complete special assignments for management as requested. Participation in the supervision, operation, and/or support of Caesars multi-casino Bad Beat system is also a responsibility. The role consistently meets the needs of internal clients, supports new ideas for business solutions, identifies efficiencies, and delivers assignments on time.
