About The Position

Join our Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) team as an Accountant/Bookkeeper in our Manhattan, NY office. We support foreign-owned U.S. subsidiaries—primarily from German-speaking countries— with their accounting, payroll, and administrative needs in the United States. Our BPO team operates at the intersection of accounting, consulting, and client service, giving you the opportunity to work closely with both U.S. management teams and global parent companies. In this role, you will go beyond routine bookkeeping. You will be part of a collaborative team that manages end-to-end finance functions, interacts directly with clients, and contributes to delivering high-quality, timely financial information that supports business decisions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or higher
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written/presentation communication skills required
  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting environment, which included preparing financial statements and communicating with clients on a daily basis
  • Experience using at least two of the following: QuickBooks Enterprise, SAGE, Navision (Microsoft Dynamics), ProAlpha, Datev, SAP
  • Experience in add-on tools, such as BILL, Ramp, Expensify
  • Strong knowledge of US-GAAP
  • Proven expertise in MS Excel and MS Outlook with a working knowledge of MS Word, and Adobe software applications
  • Curiosity about how AI can impact the accounting world and willingness to adapt new technologies
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task – strong time management skills
  • Ability to be a team player and to understand challenges facing partners and staff members and be able to manage/reschedule priorities effectively

Responsibilities

  • Own key components of the accounting cycle for client engagements, including cash, A/R, A/P, and general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records
  • Prepare financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) and reporting packages
  • Manage indirect tax compliance processes, including the preparation of sales and use tax filings, and assist clients in navigating multi-state requirement
  • Coordinate and oversee payroll processes using third-party platforms (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Gusto), ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
  • Assure timely completion and communication of project status internally
  • Identify accounting and operational issues, perform research, and develop recommendations, escalating complex matters and collaborating with Managers/Partners as needed
  • Consult with clients and its foreign parent company on their accounting, payroll and business administration needs in the United States
  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for clients, communicating proactively on deliverables, timelines, and emerging issues
  • Perform other related duties as required
