About The Position

The Accountant for Bon Appétit at Google will assist the accounting team with general accounting tasks while working alongside our culinary and support team. Ensure that all job-related projects and duties are followed and sensitive timelines are met. Will be responsible for inputting accounting information into the system. Provide consistent customer service and be courteous and helpful to customers and team members. Position Objectives: Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers. Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments. Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. Ability to execute multiple projects and assignments without error, with high attention to detail Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues as well as various levels of leadership Help cultivate an environment of continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Preferably with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or equivalent business experience, as well as knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Experience in accounts payable and invoice reconciliation and tracking
  • Proficient with 10-key.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company's information and uphold a standard of integrity and honesty.
  • Able to speak clearly and listen attentively to staff, peers, supervisors, guests and clients.
  • Have computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Platforms (Spreadsheet and Documents). With the ability to prepare, follow, and maintain spreadsheets/documents.
  • Ability to interact with a diverse and high volume customer base in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Possess strong organization skills and the commitment and ability to assess priorities, excel in a fast-paced environment, work effectively under time pressure, manage a variety of activities and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably with a background in Hospitality or Culinary Industry
  • Google Sheets experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Verifying, allocating, and posting accounting transactions in computer spreadsheets and into databases.
  • Data entry skills: reconciling invoices into the operating system
  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
  • Audits documents, such as invoices, credits, and checks to substantiate business transactions.
  • Conduct scheduled reconciliations of accounts to ensure their accuracy
  • Completes weekly/monthly supplier reconciliations and timely addresses any discrepancy.
  • Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, rentals, and similar items; prepares account statements, reports, and other records and reviews for accuracy.
  • Monitors accounts payable to ensure that payments are up to date; codes and inputs data (e.g., invoices and credits)
  • Input accounts payable, allocations, adjustments, transfers into Client AP and Compass My Finance program..
  • Assist Controller with reporting and projects
  • Assist Controller with weekly, monthly, quarterly billing
  • Communicate accurately, honestly and in a timely manner with Clients, vendors and Bon Appétit accounting department.
  • Ability to drive to multiple sites for gathering of documents (eg: invoices).
  • Respond timely to email inquiries, researches and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain service level agreements and key performance indicators
