Requirements

  • One year as an Accountant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
  • Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation.
  • A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and specialized accounting reports for committees and agency staff
  • Analyze, evaluate, and coordinate a variety of payments, refunds, and adjustments in SAP systems
  • Review balances, reconcile transactions, and correct processing errors across multiple accounts
  • Prepare and mail federal, state, and local tax filings while coordinating with authorities to resolve discrepancies
  • Review, analyze, and update payroll related vendor records while responding to complex inquiries
  • Interpret contracts and regulations to help implement procedural and system changes
