About The Position

This position is responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs. The main duty of this role is to assist the client services team in managing our tech client's golf partnerships, with a focus on planning and executing a week-long proud partnership of the PLAYERS Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. The right candidate will be able to work as part of a team and will interface with various internal teams, client partners/vendors, and onsite customers/guests. Excellent organizational and administrative skills and strong interpersonal skills are required for this position. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn account management, client engagement, partnership relations, event hospitality, on-site logistics, and event activation skills. This position will also allow you to participate in brainstorming sessions, work within various Microsoft products, and hone valuable event preparation and execution skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, with 0-1 year’s work or internship experience in partnerships, communications, hospitality or marketing industries
  • Detail-oriented; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and produce quality work within strict timelines
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to solve problems effectively and independently
  • Superior organization, interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • You take initiative and solve problems independently with little manager supervision
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
  • Willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours
  • Valid US driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • A passion for and expertise in sports, entertainment, event management, and/or hospitality
  • Previous event marketing experience is a strong plus
  • Desire to learn and develop a career in sports & entertainment or experiential marketing
  • Knowledge, experience or interest in the game of golf
  • Capacity to become knowledgeable on our clients’ industry, brand and product offering

Responsibilities

  • Support account team across multiple pillars of the activation
  • Manage documents: status reports, tracking documents and meeting notes
  • Assist in planning of partner’s sponsorship activation elements, as well as onsite execution
  • Assist with vendor management
  • Participate in brainstorms and creative ideation
  • Manage select special projects
  • Create recap documents for events including key learnings, positive aspects, areas for improvement and develop appropriate recommendations
  • Administrative duties as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
