AIG’s experience, tools, guidelines and training elevate AIG to a leader in the industry, allowing us to better understand client risk and contribute specialized knowledge to help in identifying and mitigating risks. Energy Risk Consultants are responsible for working with various stakeholders including underwriters, clients, and brokers to help identify and improve risk for various energy sectors, including but not limited to: Power Generation and Renewable Energy. The Energy Risk Consultants are integral in allowing AIG to better understand exposures and contribute specialized knowledge to help in identifying and mitigating risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics
  • Minimum ten (10) years of industry experience in Power Generation or Renewables
  • Knowledge of a wide range of occupancies, exposures per best business practices
  • Strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems as well as the ability to learn rapidly, adapt quickly to change, exercise influence, and manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess at minimum of at least one year of driving experience with a valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to read construction drawings, diagrams, printed materials.

Responsibilities

  • Perform loss control inspections, desk top reviews, and account reviews for a wide range of Energy accounts
  • Determine key loss prevention attributes at various energy facilities
  • Evaluate hazards associated with various types of turbine generators, power generations equipment and renewable technology
  • Evaluate overall Management Programs and Maintenance Programs
  • Evaluate business interruption exposures including CBI and IBI
  • Determine building construction and assess construction characteristics as applicable
  • Analyze water supplies and sprinkler system demands to determine water supply and sprinkler system adequacy
  • Identify occupancy hazards and assess the adequacy of their protection features
  • Identify and assess the impact of external exposures on a facility
  • Determine fire and natural catastrophe loss estimates for a facility
  • Conduct consultative visits at customer facilities
  • Conduct plan reviews
  • Document survey results in a data-driven report writing application
  • Mentor and train lesser experienced staff
