About The Position

The Account Manager for the Pasadena Terminal is responsible for assisting in the commercial development, evaluation of market opportunities, asset performance and business development at the Pasadena Terminal. Projects include expansion and new construction, identifying new potential customers, and maintaining and strengthening existing customer relationships. Relationship building drives the success of the terminal, from the JV partners, local operations and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent formal education to include a combination of courses such as finance, accounting, engineering, business management, or job related experience
  • 5 or more years related work experience in the energy sector preferred
  • 1-3 years related work experience in marketing and/or business development role preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participate in strategy discussions with customers to understand business needs and identify growth opportunities.
  • Work to help build out a marketing/customer base by utilizing existing tools and market intelligence
  • Work to resolve and fix issues associated with current customers’ business
  • Perform complex financial analysis, economic modeling, and developing projections for potential expansion projects, construction, or new business deals.
  • Understand the JV economics associated with projects and incorporate those into proposals for all new deals
  • Work with Engineering to help develop project AFE’s and present them to the appropriate level of senior management for approval.
  • Assist in leading monthly JV partner marketing calls, updating the partners on prospective projects and financials
  • Assist in the planning and forecasting aspects of the JV financials
  • Assist and attend the semi-annual JV board meeting
  • Review ongoing projects within assigned areas to ensure the work is being completed on time and within the scope of the AFE.
  • If problems are identified, provide recommendations to ensure projects are back on track or escalate to the appropriate level of senior management.
  • Analyze the business activity through each pipeline and terminal asset to understand the business drivers, identify business trends, and forecast future revenues.
  • Understand all existing contracts and work with accounting to ensure accurate billing
  • Make regular presentations to the commercial management team to communicate these results.
  • Cultivate and maintain a good working relationship with local operations and the marine logistics team to ensure day-day business runs smoothly
  • Obtain a working understanding of marine logistics to help speak to customer concerns and optimize business flow
