About The Position

Yazaki North America is looking for an Account Manager to join their Honda team in Columbus, OH. This role involves working with commercial and technical organizations to establish pricing strategies and competitive product levels. The Account Manager will develop sales prices and quotes, manage price strategies affecting profit, and negotiate/settle issues with customers. Additionally, the role supports management in coordination and business planning meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering or adjacent discipline required
  • 5+ years of automotive sales or business development experience with Global OEMs
  • Ability to travel both domestically & internationally as required
  • Ability to be on call as needed to support meetings outside regular hours

Nice To Haves

  • Wire harness and power electronic experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Elaborate or revise a pricing strategy on specific products.
  • Respond to inquiries from company and customer personnel regarding pricing issues.
  • Prepare expense evaluations and comparisons of profitability by product or product line.
  • Recommend costing and overall profit improvement ideas and implementation plans.
  • Manage the tooling costs associated with quotes for new business (production and prototype) and recover tooling costs for engineering changes.
  • Prepare for and participate in trade shows or technical meetings for the purpose of building business relationships.
  • Meet with, or in other ways communicate with customers for the purpose of selling company image.
  • Respond to customer or potential customer requests for information and/or problem solving.
  • Respond to customer inquiries for product price quotations.
  • Coordinate and communicate customer inquiries internally.
  • Implement price increases and/or develop price sheets.
  • Provide supporting information for short and long term forecasts.
  • Obtain unofficial information from customer to aid in planning (in conjunction with branch Planning Dept.).
  • Act as a liaison between sales and other non-sales functions.
  • Administer customer complaints, including responding to complaints and associated reporting.
  • Make business decisions that may affect day-to-day and financial operations of the division.
  • Verify, plan, direct, and control the work of indirect reports (associates who report elsewhere but provide support to the objectives of your department), which may include supervision of outside contractors.
  • Attend staff, departmental, or unit committee meetings.
  • Deliver speeches and/or presentations to internal/external organizations or entities.
  • Contribute to the standardization of processes and promote awareness and understanding of ISO 16949 compliance.
  • Attend workshops, seminars, or conferences to enhance job-related skills.
  • Correct errors in reports or documents.
  • Complete and process applications or forms (excluding documents required by law).
  • Work on special projects (typically non-recurring basis and rare occurrence).
