About The Position

Proactive Technology Group (PTG) is a growing managed IT services company serving mid-market businesses in the New York metro area. PTG is an $8M+ company focused on growth, with expansion into cybersecurity compliance, AI consulting, and strategic acquisitions. The team of 35 operates with an ownership mentality, powered by EOS, and rewards initiative. This role is for individuals who want to own a book of business, shape client strategy, and grow with a rapidly scaling company, not for those who want to manage spreadsheets and forward tickets.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in account management
  • Demonstrated track record of client retention and account growth
  • Comfort leading QBRs and presenting technology strategies to non-technical executives
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years in account management within an MSP, IT services, or technology environment
  • Experience managing $1M+ in recurring revenue across a client portfolio
  • Understanding of cybersecurity compliance frameworks (CMMC, NIST, SOC 2)
  • Background in mid-market B2B environments
  • Familiarity with PSA/RMM platforms (Halo PSA, ConnectWise, Datto, or similar)
  • CRM proficiency (HubSpot, Salesforce, or equivalent)
  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Own the full client relationship lifecycle across a portfolio of 15 to 25 managed services accounts, focusing on retention, expansion, and strategic alignment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, assisting them in strategic technology planning beyond just break-fix issues.
  • Generate revenue by managing a book of business, conducting Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), building technology roadmaps, and identifying expansion opportunities.
  • Act as the connective tissue between clients and PTG's technical delivery teams (helpdesk, project, and engineering).
  • Drive net revenue retention above 105%.
  • Align client IT investments with business objectives and translate technical capabilities into business outcomes.
  • Position PTG as a long-term strategic partner.
  • Identify and close expansion opportunities within existing accounts, focusing on proposals that solve real problems.
  • Partner with sales and engineering to ensure a seamless onboarding process for new clients, setting expectations and building trust from day one.
  • Create and deliver customized proposals for new and existing clients, owning the follow-up and moving deals through the pipeline.
  • Ensure issues are resolved quickly by acting as the liaison between clients and technical teams, and feed client intelligence back to operations to improve service delivery.
