About The Position

HL Mando is a Tier 1 supplier of safety-critical chassis components to the world’s top vehicle manufacturers. There’s a good chance that whatever car you drive, it has our brakes, steering, or suspension components keeping you safe and making your ride comfortable. We have been in business for more than 60 years, we have manufacturing locations on every continent, and we are well-respected in our field. We are looking for new talent to join our sales team at our North American headquarters in Novi Michigan. This opportunity is for an Account Manager, the first point of contact for several of our key customers, with responsibility for building and maintaining a great relationship with those customers.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as an Account Manager working for a major Tier 1 automotive supplier, or experience in a customer-facing project management role.
  • Work or volunteer experience that demonstrates your commitment to hard work, your aptitude to learn new things, and your excellent attitude will all be considered.
  • You work tirelessly to find solutions, are incessantly curious, and are excited to solve problems
  • You enjoy playing with data and crunching numbers to find favorable solutions
  • You pay attention to details, and are diligent in following up and closing issues
  • You can communicate effectively with people from all walks of life, and at all levels of the organization
  • You enjoy building relationships
  • The magic of manufacturing fascinates you!
  • Comfortable and proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
  • Excellent written English
  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to federal labor law requirements.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish or Korean language is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the commercial relationship with your assigned customer(s)
  • Understand, verify, and track cost and pricing data so as to ensure responsible commercial decisions
  • Receive and review Requests For Quote from customer(s)
  • Collaborate with colleagues to prepare and submit quotations to customer(s)
  • Participate in sales strategy discussions, bringing your industry knowledge and the voice of the customer(s)
  • Work closely with Engineering and Program Management to optimize supplier/customer relationships
  • Host customer visits to HL Mando manufacturing plants
