About The Position

Custom Truck One Source is seeking an experienced Account Manager to drive sales of aerial vehicles (bucket trucks, aerial lifts), work trucks, heavy- and light-duty commercial trucks, and related vocational equipment. This role focuses on building and managing long-term relationships with commercial, municipal, utility, construction, and fleet customers. The Account Manager will identify opportunities, develop tailored solutions, negotiate contracts, and deliver exceptional service to grow revenue and market share in the commercial vehicle and specialty equipment sector.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in B2B sales of commercial vehicles, trucks, aerial equipment, or related vocational/industrial products (3+ years preferred).
  • Strong understanding of heavy-duty, light-duty, and work truck markets, including aerial lift applications and vocational upfitting.
  • Excellent consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to interpret customer operational needs and translate them into equipment solutions.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and basic sales reporting tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial vehicle regulations, safety standards (e.g., ANSI for aerial devices), and financing options is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of accounts, including prospecting new customers and expanding business with existing clients in the utility, construction, municipal, fleet, and industrial markets.
  • Sell aerial vehicles, work trucks, heavy-duty and light-duty trucks, and vocational equipment (e.g., service bodies, cranes, dump bodies, and specialized upfits).
  • Conduct needs assessments, product demonstrations, and solution presentations to match customer requirements with the right equipment and configurations.
  • Prepare and present competitive quotes, proposals, and financing options; negotiate terms and close deals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales support, upfitters, service, parts, and finance) to ensure accurate specifications, timely delivery, and smooth customer experience.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge of chassis, aerial platforms, vocational bodies, and industry regulations/safety standards.
  • Track sales activity, pipeline, and performance metrics; provide regular forecasts and reports to management.
  • Build lasting customer relationships through proactive communication, after-sale support coordination, and ongoing account reviews.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer sites as needed.
  • Stay current on market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies in commercial vehicles and aerial equipment.
