About The Position

White Cap is seeking individuals for its Accelerated Sales Program to develop expertise as an Account Manager. This program involves comprehensive training in the company's business model, products, vendors, customer needs, job site environment, systems, competitors, pricing, sales approach, and selling skills. The role focuses on generating sales leads, making outbound calls, preparing account plans, selling the White Cap value proposition, and processing customer orders. Associates will gain experience through classroom learning, independent study, on-the-job training, and ride-alongs with experienced sales professionals. The company emphasizes building trust through knowledge, capability, and dependability, with associates as the driving force.

Requirements

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.
  • Generally 0-2 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 0-1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable conversing with team members.
  • Requires strong self-governance, proactive approach, personal accountability, and increasing independence.
  • Competitive nature with a drive to succeed.
  • Goal oriented with personal accountability to delivering on metrics
  • Open to feedback and willing to take action to improve performance
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize daily activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification may be required in some areas.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field or one to two years of sales or related field experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Engages in classroom, independent study and on-the-job training to learn the company’s business model, products, vendors, customer needs, job site environment, systems, competitors, pricing, sales approach and selling skills.
  • Generates viable sales leads and prospects through use of Dodge Pipeline, sales events, job site visits, networking, vendor events, etc. and analyze.
  • Makes outbound business development phone calls.
  • Prepares and executes account plans.
  • Sells White Cap value proposition and products.
  • Learns about making effective jobsite or office sales calls by riding along with the District Sales Manager or experienced Account Managers.
  • Enters and processes customer orders.
  • Seeks and responds to performance feedback.
