About The Position

Weekes Forest Products/WS Building Materials is a 100% Employee-Owned company and a leading distributor of specialty building materials, engineered wood components, and industrial lumber materials. As an Outside Sales Account Manager, you will have the opportunity to take initiative, represent the company in the construction industry, and build and foster relationships with customers. The ideal candidate is an influencer with a self-confident, extroverted style, who appreciates people and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 3 years’ experience in sales and/or marketing with an emphasis on territory management
  • 1-2 years working in the building materials industry or a similar industry preferred
  • High School Diploma
  • Clean driving record for the past 5 years
  • Efficient time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to handle multiple projects occurring simultaneously with a sense of urgency for goal achievement.

Responsibilities

  • Service and grow sales for an assigned group of customers through in person sales calls and total account management.
  • Making connections with people, motivating, and inspiring them to achieve mutually beneficial results.
  • The work involves driving toward results by enrolling the commitment and buy-in of internal and external customers.
  • Develop and maintain product knowledge through training and ongoing learning.
  • Strong self-direction, and an interest in achieving results with and through people.
  • A sincere appreciation for people and how each individual is uniquely motivated.
  • Able to understand customer’s individual needs and goals is essential; build long-term relationships.
  • Able to initiate projects and processes beyond established practices when directed.
  • Identify and maintain customer opportunities, develop strategies for closing those opportunities and following them through to a conclusion.
  • This position has variety of tasks and is dynamic and changing.
