About The Position

This is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work. Associates are required to work at least four days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site. The role is responsible for managing customer financials, including quoting, obtaining purchase orders, addressing extraordinary costs, and obtaining customer approval for recovery throughout the program/project life. The Account Manager II will establish and maintain relationships with OEM purchasing, engineering, and program teams as the primary commercial interface with OEM customers. They will participate in customer program/project team meetings and report all financial matters to relevant functional groups. The position supports the development of multi-year OEM business acquisition strategies aligned to vehicle platforms, model cycles, and sourcing timelines, aiming to achieve profit objectives consistent with the NABU budget. Pricing is managed using Sumitomo's internal systems. The role involves scheduling and championing regular Open Issues meetings with customers and supporting customer program team meetings. The Account Manager II should be knowledgeable about Sumitomo's products and manufacturing processes and assist the Sales team in developing new/improved processes and procedures, while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years automotive sales account management experience.
  • Financial, analytical, negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required.
  • Ability to be on call as needed to support meetings outside regular hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Wire Harness Commercial experience with OEM is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Customer financials focusing on; Quoting Customer, obtaining Purchase / Tool Orders, address extraordinary costs and obtain customer approval for recovery throughout the program/project life utilizing internal and Customer systems.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with OEM purchasing, engineering and program teams as the primary commercial interface with OEM customers.
  • Participate in customer program/project team meetings and be responsible to report all financial matters to the relevant functional groups.
  • Support the development of multi-year OEM business acquisition strategies, aligned to vehicle platforms, model cycles and sourcing timelines.
  • Achieve profit objectives consistent with NABU budget.
  • Manage pricing utilizing Sumitomo's internal systems.
  • Schedule and champion regular Open Issues meeting with customers (Buyer) and support customer program team meetings.
  • Be knowledgeable on Sumitomo's products and general understanding of Sumitomo's Manufacturing.
  • Assist the Sales team in developing new/improved process and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
