The Account Manager role requires a high level of organization, strategic planning, relationship management, and leadership in client services. This position reports to the Manager of Client Services and is responsible for managing a portfolio of association clients. The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for each account, ensuring exceptional service delivery from the account team and alignment with client goals. The role may also involve leading client portfolios at an executive level, including annual planning, budget development, governance support, and board presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Communications, Not-for-Profit Management, or a related field.
  • Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • 8+ years of relevant, association or board leadership experience.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with association management companies or agencies.
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors, committees, and/or in the not-for-profit sector, understanding board governance and how volunteer leadership operates.
  • Bilingual in English/French (an asset).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of association clients, serving as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor.
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery from the full account team and alignment with client goals.
  • Manage the high-level and daily needs of a varied portfolio of clients.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with clients, their stakeholders, and manage volunteers.
  • Manage or support various client projects, including marketing and communications initiatives, and membership registration drives, ensuring on-time and accurate delivery.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly/monthly reporting to clients and management.
  • Plan, take minutes for, and follow up on action items from board/committee meetings.
  • Maintain up-to-date databases (sponsorship, attendee, membership, etc.).
  • Support challenging situations as they arise and keep Director apprised of progress and challenges.
  • Lead and manage general communication needs, email campaigns, and website updates.
  • Continuously learn new tools, software, and best practices to improve personal job performance and client efficiency.
  • Complete other tasks essential to the successful delivery of scope or as requested by Management.
  • Lead client portfolios at an executive level, including developing and executing annual project plans, delegation within the internal team, and overseeing accountability.
  • Assist with annual planning, including budget development and management, and governance or business development.
  • Confidently and accurately support leadership of boards in governance proceedings and present reports to the board on behalf of Redstone/client team.
