About The Position

The Aviation Account Manager is responsible for the day‑to‑day client servicing and technical support for an assigned book of aviation clients. This may include airports, FBOs, MROs, fleet operators, private clients, rotor‑wing, aerospace manufacturers, product liability accounts, hangar operators, non‑owned aviation, and other related specialty exposures. The Account Manager partners closely with the Producer or Account Executive who drives overall client strategy, placement, and business development. The role requires a strong understanding of aviation insurance, underwriting requirements, key operational exposures, and communication with flight departments, maintenance teams, and aviation underwriters.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in P&C brokerage, with at least 1 years focused on aviation.
  • Deep technical knowledge of aviation insurance including hull, liability, war risks, hangar keepers, products liability, and related specialty coverages.
  • Strong understanding of aviation operations, key risk drivers, and underwriting requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret pilot records, training documents, aircraft specifications, hangar agreements, and other aviation‑related information.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the team and maintain professionalism during urgent, complex, or high‑pressure situations.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong market relationships.
  • Active state issued P&C license

Responsibilities

  • Lead renewal strategy and execution, including market selection, exposure and loss analysis, data gathering, application and submission prep, proposal delivery, carrier negotiation, and binding.
  • Manage Middle Market and Small aviation accounts, secure required underwriting documentation, and identify cross‑sell opportunities across key commercial coverages.
  • Review all policies, endorsements, audits, cancellations, invoices, and related deliverables for accuracy while maintaining strong carrier/wholesale relationships and fulfilling day‑to‑day client service and accounting responsibilities.
  • Act as the primary contact for aviation service needs—including policy changes, aircraft additions/deletions, pilot approvals, hangar moves, and certificates—while coordinating with internal and third‑party teams to issue required documents.
  • Submit and track endorsements for aircraft values, pilot changes, and operational updates; maintain accurate agency management system documentation in line with E&O and aviation underwriting standards; prioritize urgent requests and communicate required follow‑up.
  • Support clients through the claims process by reporting losses and coordinating with adjusters, and mentor junior Account Managers to promote consistent service practices.
  • Accurately set up aviation policies in the agency management system, request carrier invoices, and ensure billing is processed in the correct accounting period, including support for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and reporter billing cycles.
  • Support Producer and Retail Payables, manage billing reconciliations, communicate with clients on Aged Receivables per internal collection guidelines, and assist with return premium processing and ACH/wire coordination.
  • Review carrier statements, ensure proper payment application, and work with accounting to resolve discrepancies or remittance issues, including premium‑financed accounts.
  • Maintain strong, collaborative partnerships with aviation carriers, MGAs, and wholesalers to support efficient placement and service.
  • Support the “Fewer & Stronger” market consolidation strategy and work closely with underwriters to secure optimal coverage, pricing, and terms—especially for large, complex, or high‑limit accounts.
  • Review carrier/wholesaler contracts for accuracy and compliance and assist with updating or delivering retail agent agreements as needed.
  • Drive enterprise initiatives that elevate accountability, cross‑functional collaboration, and high performance. Champion retention, new business, and renewal outcomes while rigorously adhering to E&O protocols and executing corrective actions identified through compliance reviews. Proactively lead special projects and stretch assignments that accelerate team capability, operational excellence, and organizational growth.
