About The Position

KCH Transportation is a premier third-party logistics (3PL) and freight brokerage headquartered in Chattanooga, TN. We are currently seeking a paid Account Management Support Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience within our Account Management group, where you’ll play a key role in tracking shipments, supporting customer communication, and gaining real-world exposure to the fast-paced logistics industry. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a foundation in supply chain, operations, or transportation. Position Summary: The Account Management Support Intern supports the Account Management team by monitoring shipments, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining accurate updates for both internal teams and customers. This role provides hands-on experience in freight visibility, shipment tracking, and problem resolution within a fast-paced logistics environment. The intern will work closely with Account Managers and gain exposure to supply chain processes, TMS tools, and customer communication.

Requirements

  • Eagerness to learn and expand knowledge of the logistics and supply chain industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and information sources simultaneously
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset, collaborating effectively to achieve shared goals
  • Solution-driven, able to troubleshoot issues and provide recommendations
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred
  • Experience with logistics, operations, or supply chain systems is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track shipments throughout the transportation lifecycle using TMS and other tracking tools
  • Communicate proactively with carriers, customers, and internal teams regarding shipment status, delays, and exceptions
  • Analyze shipment data to identify trends or potential issues and provide actionable insights
  • Assist in resolving shipment discrepancies or delays
  • Document and maintain accurate records of shipment updates and communications
  • Support the Account Management team on assigned projects related to shipment visibility and process improvement
  • Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for improving tracking accuracy and efficiency
