About The Position

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a motivated Account Executive to oversee the Waco, TX territory. This role involves promoting Grand Canyon University's online academic programs in education, healthcare, and business, driving inquiry generation, and building high-impact partnerships. The Account Executive will provide exceptional counseling to prospective students, their families, and partners, guiding them through the admissions process and supporting their success in online learning. This is a community-based position with ambitious targets, requiring independent work, critical thinking, and a passion for education. The role offers a starting salary of $75,000 per year with the potential for a six-figure income after five years.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • No delinquent or in default on a federal student loan as verified in your credit report. If in a rehabilitation program, your credit report must reflect that you are current, not delinquent, on your payments.
  • Outstanding time management skills and ability to prioritize competing priorities, even while traveling.
  • Clear communication skills (in person, written, and phone) and well-developed listening skills.
  • Self-motivation and drive to succeed; volunteering for new challenges and taking ownership.
  • High emotional intelligence, with the ability to demonstrate empathy.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a flexible schedule.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience demonstrated success in attracting and retaining business-to-business, outside sales, account management experience with a significant product or service and preferably within a large, diverse geographical area.
  • Experience and skill in building territories and leads.
  • Ability to travel in territory as required (may involve 80% travel requiring some overnights and on weekends).
  • Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Strong business and marketing acumen with a knowledge of business development strategy with a track record of new business/sales accomplishments.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employee types including C-level leaders.
  • Exemplary communication skills, including verbal and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with strong constituency building skill.
  • Action and results oriented, self-starter, self directed and self motivated with an entrepreneurial quality. Must be able and willing to work without daily oversight.
  • Good negotiation and persuasiveness skills.
  • Must be successful in closing potential clients, customers, sales or similar.
  • Research and lead generation building skills with effective follow-up.
  • Must be a strong player with excellent planning and organizational skills in order to meet or exceed enrollment projections and expectations.
  • Confident, high energy and capable of launching new territories successfully, if necessary.
  • Knowledge of higher-learning environments and programs.
  • Computer/office software proficiency including MS Office Suite.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (highly preferred) or 5 years’ related experience with a minimum of 60 college credits completed and progressing toward an undergraduate degree.
  • A combination of similar education and work experience may be substituted with prior approval.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and implementing event/activity plans for the territory to build awareness of online academic programs and drive inquiry generation.
  • Shaping high-impact partnerships for the territory and executing daily work through informational presentations, calls, and emails.
  • Providing exceptional counseling to prospective students, their families, and partners through various mediums (in-person, phone, email).
  • Championing the GCE mission and promoting Grand Canyon University student success and institutional growth.
  • Supporting prospective Grand Canyon University students through the admissions process and guiding them toward a successful online learning experience.
  • Developing marketing plans to promote the Colleges’ programs to constituents.
  • Facilitating the distribution of informational materials through all appropriate channels within a territory.
  • Working with GCU’s enrollment team to enable a seamless enrollment process for business leaders and staff.
  • Contributing to the enrollee(s)’ experience and positively impacting retention by acting as an advocate for GCU.
  • Remaining current with GCU’s programs, new industry-wide trends, and developments.
  • May provide mentoring to less-experienced employees.
