The Role We are looking for an Account Executive (AE) to join our San Francisco team. As an AE, you will play a critical role in delivering integrated communications programs for some of the most innovative technology companies in the world. You'll serve as a day-to-day contributor across media relations, content development, client service, and campaign execution while building trusted relationships with clients, journalists, and internal teams. This role is ideal for a communications professional who is curious about technology, passionate about storytelling, and eager to take ownership of projects while continuing to develop strategic communications skills. You'll work alongside experienced account leaders, contribute meaningful ideas, and help drive measurable business outcomes for clients. The strongest candidates combine excellent writing skills, strong media instincts, attention to detail, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. Expectations for this role align with Archetype's Account Executive level framework and development path.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in public relations, communications, integrated marketing, or a related field
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong writing, editing, research, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience drafting media materials, client communications, and thought leadership content
  • Demonstrated success building media lists, conducting outreach, and supporting earned media programs
  • Understanding of the technology, media, and communications landscape
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to proactively manage deadlines and priorities
  • Confidence participating in client meetings and communicating with external stakeholders
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems, and identify new opportunities for clients
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to support and mentor more junior teammates when appropriate
  • Champion the use of AI tools and emerging tech to enhance writing, research, and content production efficiency
  • Willingness to work from our San Francisco office in accordance with team and client needs

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred prior experience in an agency environment supporting technology, AI, cybersecurity, enterprise software, B2B, or consumer technology clients
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day execution across multiple technology client accounts
  • Build and maintain media lists, editorial calendars, activity trackers, and briefing materials
  • Draft press releases, media pitches, bylines, award submissions, and other client-facing content
  • Conduct proactive media outreach and help secure meaningful coverage in business, technology, and trade publications
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and breaking news to identify storytelling opportunities
  • Participate in client meetings, providing updates, insights, and recommendations
  • Manage projects from kickoff through completion while ensuring deadlines are met
  • Develop social media content and support integrated communications campaigns
  • Coordinate media briefings, interviews, speaking opportunities, and event logistics
  • Track, analyze, and report on campaign results and media coverage
  • Contribute to brainstorms, strategic planning sessions, and new business opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with Account Coordinators, Senior Account Executives, and Account Managers to deliver exceptional client service
