Account Executive

About The Position

As an Account Executive, you will generate new business within an assigned geographic and customer-based territory, helping city and county governments modernize how they serve their communities. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to prospective customers, guiding them through the buying process and building confidence in CivicPlus software, services, and implementation approach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, social sciences, or a related field, or comparable experience
  • Strong persuasive, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a rapidly expanding and changing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in highly competitive markets preferred
  • Proven track record of selling software application deals in similar markets preferred

Responsibilities

  • Sell web-based software solutions to local governments within the assigned territory
  • Meet or exceed assigned territory goals
  • Forecast business within the territory in a timely and accurate manner
  • Work directly with lead-generation, technical, and support staff to manage the totality of the buying cycle
  • Qualify potential opportunities
  • Generate new opportunities through a variety of prospecting activities
  • Maintain excellent documentation, with strong attention to detail in reporting
  • Aggressively close new business through short- to mid-length sales cycles
  • Develop consultative and trusted advisor relationships with local governments within the assigned territory
