About The Position

The Account Executive is essential to Danessa Myricks Beauty's store-level success. The primary responsibility is to generate in-store sales and lead a team of Account Coordinators and Selling and Education Specialists. The AE is responsible for the staffing and management of ACs and SES within a given territory. The Account Executive is a partner to the corporate sales team and contributes to strategic decision-making to influence Danessa Myricks Beauty’s in-store success. The AE is accountable for sales performance, budgetary management, and people management in their respective territory. The ideal candidate must enjoy the retail environment and must have a strong background in people development, sales, education, artistry and training. The candidate must be a stellar seller, organized, responsible, detail-oriented, a self-starter, a multi-tasker, and possess strong follow-up skills. An AE must have the ability to successfully plan, organize, and conduct events and trainings at the store level and manage a team to conduct their own events and trainings within their assigned stores. Communication skills, timely reporting practices, follow-through, and a collaborative approach with the team to develop strategic in-store activity. Energy, passion & resilience are crucial; must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or comparable 4 years of retail, sales and/or beauty industry experience, preferably in the cosmetics category.
  • Proven experience managing and developing remote field teams across multiple states.
  • Experience working in Sephora preferred.
  • Proven track record of overseeing with successful events.
  • Memorable, positive, professional, and enthusiastic presence
  • Strong aptitude for product knowledge, brand messaging, training, and selling.
  • Multi-store visit calendar booking and management ability.
  • Experience working in an open-sell environment.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to take strategic direction based on sales and business analysis.
  • Ability to personally organize, set priorities, and work cross-functionally to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Basic computer skills a must: Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel

Responsibilities

  • Achieve targeted sales goals for designated stores as directed by the Corporate Sales team.
  • Coordinate and book in-store training and support dates and activate strategic education and event initiatives as directed by the sales leadership team.
  • Act as primary day-to-day brand contact for designated stores.
  • Develop and frequently assess store visit call cycle for self and direct reports; partner with sales leadership to optimize territory coverage.
  • Educate, train, and develop employees at our retail partners, with a focus on product knowledge, artistry, and selling skills.
  • Utilize DMB University, sales, education, event tools, personal selling skills and experience to support fiscal sales plan achievement.
  • Plan and execute effective in-store and FSC events to drive sales and support marketing objectives.
  • Continuously assess and evaluate each door’s productivity, sales and training results of SES support and ROI with sales leadership.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to build impactful store-by-store action plans to address store needs and support sales goals regionally.
  • Develop and build strong relationships with staff and store leadership up to District level at Sephora.
  • Continually assess staffing needs and partner with sales leadership on staffing opportunities.
  • Oversee AC and Selling Specialists calendars to ensure optimal call cycle coverage.
  • Be a professional brand ambassador and role model for the brand through training and artistry.
  • Strategically and per company direction, book events to optimize sales and ensure proper execution in partnership with stores; oversee event scheduling of direct reports.
  • Schedule Sales and Education Specialists within given territory monthly, in line with SES and T&E budget.
  • Collaborate with retail partners to analyze stock needs, relay stock concerns to sales leadership.
  • Support in-store merchandising and visual programs and communicate challenges to sales leadership.
  • Maintain weekly communication with sales leadership, complete and submit post-event recaps and weekly reports in a timely manner.
  • Host touch bases and monthly calls with the SES team during allocated office time, regarding business opportunities, sales results, successes, newness, and artistry training.
  • Manage an allotted budget and keep sales leadership informed of any concerns.
  • Work two 8-hr office days monthly on the first and third Tuesday of every month.
  • Be the "eyes and ears" of the brand at the store level; provide continual communication of store concerns, stock concerns, product issues, and space and location challenges.
  • Recruiting, onboarding, and assessment of ACs and Selling and Education Specialists; implement individual development plans.
  • Coach and develop ACs and Selling Specialists on product knowledge, elevated presentation skills, sales techniques and leveraging store relationships.
  • Represent Danessa Myricks Beauty brand in personal image, presentation, and artistry techniques, meetings, and events.
  • Contribute knowledge of trends and translate that to DMB products and application techniques in training and event activities.
  • Responsible for leading a field team spread out over a territory that may include multiple states.
