About The Position

The Eureka Times-Standard, a subsidiary of MediaNews Group, is seeking an Account Executive to develop robust multimedia advertising campaigns for local and regional businesses. The Times-Standard is the leading source of news for California's far North Coast, delivering comprehensive local, national, and international news, along with entertainment, sports, and classified listings. As part of the Northern California Community Newspapers group, it collaborates with sister publications. The company prides itself on sharing engaging stories that inform, inspire, and connect with readers across a diverse collection of trusted local media brands, aiming to reinvent the industry and transform the future of media.

Requirements

Proven track record of success in driving revenue
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
Demonstrated time management skills
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and customer relationship skills
Must be willing to submit and pass the necessary required checks
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation
Must be available for shift work

Responsibilities

Proactively prospect, qualify, grow, and maintain all sales activities, from lead generation through close in an assigned territory or category
Possess a thorough knowledge of print and digital product portfolios; produce needs analysis and use knowledge to overcome customer objections to result in sales growth
Understand how the competition sells their products and services
Keep records of products sold and look for ways to increase revenue potential
Create market presentations and sales proposals while working with the client’s budget
Actively pursue and maintain an understanding of new digital trends in the media industry
Analyze and interpret key sales metrics
