Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ Personal insurance experience
  • General Insurance Agent Level 2 license through the Insurance Council of British Columbia or equivalent license in the individual’s province of residence, with the ability to obtain a British Columbia license

Nice To Haves

  • CAIB, CIP, CRM or other insurance designations considered an asset
  • Post Secondary Degree considered an asset
  • Experience using EPIC broker management system an asset
  • Experience with a Sales CRM(ie. HubSpot) considered an asset
  • CAIB or CIP insurance designation
  • Experience using the Epic broker management system
  • Insurance experience in D&O, cyber, and other specialty lines, rate sheets, including split rating, process of learning/understanding clients’ operations, pre-underwriting process for the practice group’s specialty industry/industries

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing a marketing strategy to grow the Personal insurance book of business through direct relationships of existing and new Commercial lines business, managing leads from the Commercial Production team through a sales pipeline.
  • Managing with &/or without the BSAA Personal Lines team an insurance book of business, ensuring clients have the necessary coverage in place; quoting and binding coverage; and cross- and up-selling additional coverage where possible.
  • Selling brokerage services to reach target revenue and activity quota.
  • Conducting (with &/or without the BSAA Personal Lines team) regular review meetings with existing clients to service and identify opportunities for new prospecting activities.
  • Maintaining a highly technical and service-oriented relationship with clients & underwriter.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with insurers to ensure clients receive favourable pricing and claims handling and to develop new product.
  • Attending client (prospective & existing), insurer, and industry functions to build networks and identify new business streams.
  • Referring business opportunities outside specialty area to other Axis’ Account Executive.
  • Preparing annual business plan with projected sales goals, strategies, obstacles, and areas for growth.
  • Attending regular Personal Lines Growth Group meetings.
