About The Position

Signal49 Research is seeking an Account Executive to grow and expand council membership across its executive level councils. This role is responsible for building new pipeline, engaging senior executives, and closing high value memberships through a consultative, insight led sales approach. The Account Executive will work closely with research leaders, council management, and marketing partners to position executive councils as indispensable resources for decision makers. This is a full cycle, quota carrying role focused on new member acquisition and expansion. The ideal candidate is a high-performing B2B sales professional with experience selling consultative, intangible solutions to VP and C-suite executives. They excel at outbound prospecting, managing full sales cycles, and driving revenue through data-informed pipeline management. This individual communicates with confidence, takes full ownership of results, and consistently delivers a professional, high-quality experience to executive audiences. As Signal49 Research is a virtual organization, the Account Executive must be comfortable working 100% of the time from a home office in Canada, possessing a self-starter attitude, strong organizational and time management skills, and being a proactive communicator. A productive, professional, and safe home office environment with reliable internet service is required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in B2B sales.
  • Completion of post-secondary education in business administration, marketing, or sales related discipline.
  • Proven record of prospecting for new business by actively executing regular outbound sales activity (calls, emails, securing booked appointments).
  • Demonstrated experience selling intangible, consultative, or SaaS adjacent/solution driven offerings.
  • Proven experience building excellent client relationships to the VP-level and C-suite decision makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently exceed performance objectives.
  • Advanced communication skills, both orally and written.
  • Proficiency using CRM platforms to manage pipelines and track activity.
  • Familiarity with sales outreach tools, Sales Navigator, and digital sales workflows.
  • High degree of competence in Communication, Negotiation, Networking, Ownership, and Planning, Accountability and Execution.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism in both English and French is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead outbound campaigns to actively promote and sell membership-based products.
  • Build a strong pipeline through outbound prospecting and targeted account strategies.
  • Own and drive revenue targets for the Executive Councils.
  • Lead full sales cycles from discovery through close, including expansion opportunities.
  • Engage VP-level and C-suite executives across public and private sector organizations.
  • Conduct full discovery to understand priorities, risks and strategic challenges.
  • Position Executive Councils as peer-based solutions to organizational goals.
  • Partner with Council leaders and research teams to align member needs with offerings.
  • Leverage industry insights and collaborate with marketing and business development to refine targeting and messaging.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and activity tracking in CRM systems.
  • Use data to prioritize opportunities and guide account planning.
  • Ensure a high-quality, professional experience across all stages of the buyer journey.
  • Act as an ambassador for Signal49 Research with executive audiences.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality work and demonstrating professional values in all aspects of work and interactions with colleagues and customers.
