Account Executive – Natural Resources Practice Do you thrive on managing complex commercial insurance programs for major clients? This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from either out Toronto, Montreal or Halifax office, in line with Aon’s smart working policy. Requirements

  • 8+ years of commercial insurance experience, ideally including large and complex natural resources accounts, with a strong preference for power and renewables experience (mining and energy experience also valued).
  • Strong client relationship skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders as a trusted advisor.
  • Proven experience leading account lifecycles, including renewals, documentation review and coordination with broking and claims teams.
  • Ability to analyze contracts and insurance requirements, anticipate underwriting issues and provide clear guidance to clients and colleagues.
  • University degree (or equivalent) preferred; RIBO license required; CIP, FCIP and/or CRM preferred or in progress; strong organizational, communication and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and lead assigned natural resources accounts, working with Associate Account Executives to deliver on client needs.
  • Coordinate all account activity, including client requests, policy changes, additions, deletions, renewals and cancellations.
  • Work with the Broking Team to initiate and lead the 120‑day renewal process, including preparing and presenting renewal reports and reviewing final policy documentation.
  • Review contracts, policies, endorsements, cover notes and certificates of insurance to ensure accuracy and alignment with client requirements and underwriting considerations.
  • Support clients on significant claims issues, liaising with internal claims resources as needed.
  • Develop and lead senior‑level client relationships, identifying cross‑sell opportunities and supporting new business development within the natural resources segment.
