About The Position

The Account Executive serves as the primary contact and strategic liaison for assigned pharmacy clients, managing account performance across retail, mail, specialty, rebate, clinical, formulary, pharmacy benefit, and emerging solutions. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Account Management, this role coordinates internal teams, operational support partners, PBMs, pharmacies, manufacturers, Clean Team resources, and vendors to deliver implementations, resolve issues, meet contractual commitments, and strengthen client satisfaction and retention.

Requirements

  • BS in Business, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, Public Health, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent experience
  • 3 - 5 Years in account management or comparable client-facing experience within a health plan, PBM, pharmacy services, managed care, or healthcare services environment.
  • Experience supporting pharmacy benefits or operations, such as retail, mail, specialty, rebates, clinical programs, or managed care services.
  • Demonstrated success as the primary contact for large or complex accounts and in coordinating cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Ability to analyze operational, financial, pharmacy, claims, and rebate data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, PBM services, benefit management, issue resolution, and service delivery.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, relationship management, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, reporting platforms, and data analysis tools; ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment while managing multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting health plans, Blue plans, employer groups, government-sponsored programs, or PBM clients strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of formulary management, manufacturer contracting, utilization management, clinical programs, and Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, or Federal Employee Program operations strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading client implementations, business transitions, operational projects, reporting, analytics, data governance, or Clean Team support strongly preferred.
  • MBA, PharmD, MHA, or another advanced healthcare or business degree preferred.
  • Demonstrates AI literacy and an understanding of generative AI tools, including appropriate business applications and limitations.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day account management and strategic client relationships, including account meetings, business reviews, communications, escalations, and executive engagement.
  • Manage an assigned line of business, align client expectations with operational execution, and ensure contractual obligations, service commitments, and deliverables are met accurately and on time.
  • Lead implementation and change activities for new clients, programs, and service enhancements, including planning, readiness, testing, communications, launch support, and transition to ongoing operations.
  • Monitor service delivery, service-level agreements, performance guarantees, and client commitments; coordinate timely resolution of issues affecting members, pharmacy access, claims, specialty fulfillment, rebates, and clinical programs.
  • Oversee pharmacy program performance across retail, mail, specialty, rebate, formulary, utilization management, and related benefit operations; identify risks and support corrective actions and optimization.
  • Develop and present reports, dashboards, scorecards, executive summaries, and business reviews. Analyze operational, financial, pharmacy, claims, utilization, and rebate data to identify trends and recommend improvements. Validate the accuracy and completeness of reporting and deliverables produced by internal teams, operational support partners, Clean Team resources, and third-party vendors.
  • Manage relationships and performance across PBMs, specialty pharmacies, manufacturers, network partners, and other vendors, facilitating issue resolution and corrective action when needed.
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts to improve quality, efficiency, service delivery, and client outcomes.
