About The Position

FleishmanHillard's International Affairs team is growing, and we're looking for an Account Executive to join us in supporting world-class clients navigating complex global challenges. If you're a curious communicator with early-career international affairs, finance or journalism experience, who's curious to understand how global influence works and wants to help shape it - this could be the perfect role for you! As an Account Executive, you will be building media relationships for clients, supporting strategy and execution, and assisting with new business proposals. You will have a curiosity and interest in communications on international issues, macroeconomics, and U.S. policy - and will support media outreach, advising clients, guiding proactive earned communications, and showing the impact of our work. This will include developing content, meeting with journalists, crafting thought leadership, and project management of sponsored content campaigns.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience providing public relations counsel to clients
  • Knowledge of media trends and issues and an understanding of the media environment
  • Intellectually curious – you follow the news, media trends and understand the media environment
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent writing and editing abilities
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to understand complex concepts quickly
  • Energetic self-starter and resourceful problem solver – you get things moving, keep things on track; and know when to ask for help.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, persuasively, and make informed recommendations

Responsibilities

  • Research target journalists, craft compelling pitches, coordinate interviews, help shape coverage, and manage ongoing media relationships
  • Develop and edit written materials - media pitches, press releases, client correspondence, press briefs, Q&As, thought leadership pieces and reporting - with attention to nuance on complex business, finance and international issues
  • Build and maintain a growing network of media contacts who are in business, finance, and international affairs beats; including monthly in-person touch points with journalists
  • Support strategy development for media engagement programs, bringing curiosity and fresh perspectives
  • Manage project timelines and deliverable deadlines
  • Support new business opportunities, including helping contribute ideas to RFP responses
  • Draft or refine messaging, pitch, Q&A documents and other campaign materials, as well as plans and recaps
  • Participate actively in the team's collaborative culture, sharing insights, asking questions, and supporting colleagues
