About The Position

Mindgrub Technologies is an award-winning agency focused on driving efficiency, growth, and ROI through AI and digital innovation for enterprise clients, particularly in the energy and utilities sectors. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Account Director to manage and expand a portfolio of existing energy and utility accounts, as well as drive new sales by identifying opportunities within these industries.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience working in the energy and utilities industry strongly preferred.
  • This position is fully remote. Candidates must be able to support occasional travel, as and when required to support client needs and industry events (less than 25% of time).
  • 5+ years of proven experience as an Account Director or similar leadership role, with a successful track record in managing and expanding current accounts in a B2B environment.
  • Sales experience is preferred and considered beneficial, but is not required.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team towards achieving targets.
  • Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of account management principles and best practices.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and expanding current accounts, achieving revenue targets, and driving customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to build new and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at different levels within client organizations.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong technical and business acumen.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong understanding of Cloud, Web, Mobile App, and Marketing principles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing energy and utility clients, understanding their challenges, pain points, and strategic priorities.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders on accounts, establishing and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Understanding clients' business and technical needs, goals, and objectives to effectively position products/services and drive customer success.
  • Regularly communicating with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Monitoring account performance metrics, analyzing data, and generating reports.
  • Performing Quarterly Business Reviews with accounts to drive alignment and create strategic plans.
  • Identifying and driving opportunities for account growth within the existing client base and developing strategies to capitalize on them.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, product development) to support account expansion initiatives.
  • Conducting in-depth account reviews to uncover additional needs or areas where products/services can provide value.
  • Presenting and promoting new products, upgrades, or solutions to clients.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor, resource, and partner.
  • Attending and driving key client meetings, workshops, industry events, and networking sessions.
  • Anticipating and resolving risks, issues, or challenges to ensure high client satisfaction and retention rates.
  • Actively seeking feedback from clients for improvement and relaying insights to internal teams.
  • Collaborating with the sales team to provide input and support in developing account strategies and sales/expansion plans.
  • Driving contract renewals, negotiations, and upselling opportunities.
  • Providing accurate and timely sales forecasts, account updates, and activity reports to management.
