About The Position

Griffith Foods is seeking an Account Director to lead business development efforts targeting retailers and food manufacturers. This is a newly created role focused on building a strong pipeline, converting strategic opportunities, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver innovative, customer-centric solutions. The position involves acquiring new customers and expanding existing opportunities within the retail and food manufacturing sectors, aligning with Griffith Foods' capabilities and values. This role is crucial for shaping a new growth area for Griffith Foods, with a strategy to expand presence in the retail sector and accelerate customer acquisition in the broader Food Manufacturing landscape. The Account Director will be instrumental in driving growth by building new customer relationships, deepening strategic partnerships, and identifying opportunities for value-added culinary and ingredient solutions. This role goes beyond traditional sales, offering a chance to define and build a growing business. Collaboration across functions will be key to transforming customer insights into innovative, commercially successful solutions, ensuring strategic impact and operational execution. This is an opportunity for individuals who excel at building, influencing, and creating meaningful customer partnerships to make a lasting impact on Griffith's future growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or a related area.
  • At least 7 years of progressive sales experience, within the Retail Sales, Foodservice Sales, food ingredients, or CPG industry.
  • Previous experience in business development, filling the “white space” in the market
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally, within Canada.
  • Current location within a commutable distance to Scarborough, ON.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Scarborough 2-3 days/week when not with customers, and when needed to support leadership meetings and other business needs.
  • The entire Scarborough team comes into the office for cross-functional interactions for 3 days (Tues – Thurs.) at the end of each month.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in new business development
  • Previous experience serving the foodservice or retail industry
  • Experience selling in B2B food industry environments, including foodservice and/or retail.
  • MBA or master’s degree in business, marketing or related field.
