About The Position

This position involves bookkeeping and clerical work, including maintaining ledgers, journals, and other records/reports. The role requires providing courteous, responsive, and professional service, handling cash and credit card receipts, completing Fee Determinations, and verifying Private Insurances. Employees must comply with various policies, including Alcohol & Drug Testing and Background Check policies, and follow supervisor directives while maintaining confidentiality. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general educational development (GED) certificate
  • At least three years’ experience in general business and/or accounting
  • Demonstration of ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Access software programs
  • Ability to solve a limited number of routine or similar problems when clear procedures are available
  • Ability to control own time and efforts and efficiently control resources allocated to the job (e.g. equipment, supplies, budget)
  • Ability to provide, exchange, or explain information of a technical or otherwise complex nature
  • Ability to deal with minor conflicts tactfully

Nice To Haves

  • College classes in general business and/or accounting or Associate Degree, business school graduate in accounting
  • Experience with Insurance Verification, Fee Determinations, and/or collection of Co-Pays/Fees.
  • More than 3 years’ experience, some within a CMH setting
  • Lived experience with behavioral health issues

Responsibilities

  • Perform bookkeeping and clerical work involving maintenance of ledgers, journals, and other records/reports.
  • Provide courteous, responsive, and professional service to those we serve and work with.
  • Handle cash and credit card receipts from individuals served.
  • Complete Fee Determinations.
  • Verify Private Insurances.
  • Comply with Alcohol & Drug Testing Policy (06-001-0010) and Background Check Policy (06-001-0015), as well as supervisors/designee directives.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Support an employment environment that promotes recovery and discovery with an integrated person-centered approach to treatment services that is trauma informed and culturally competent.
