About The Position

Cesco Solutions, a Tidal Vision Company, is seeking an experienced wastewater application specialist to manage customer relationships and provide technical service for their industrial wastewater treatment programs. This role involves ensuring customer satisfaction, account retention, and continuous improvement within an assigned EU & UK territory. The position combines scheduled account service, wastewater applications support, process troubleshooting, operator training, and commercial account development. Sales is an important element, requiring the identification of opportunities for program expansion within existing accounts and support for new customer development. The role is home-based with regular travel required.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in industrial wastewater treatment, with substantial hands-on responsibility for customer applications, process diagnosis and treatment optimisation.
  • Practical technical knowledge of wastewater-treatment plants, preferably involving high-organics effluent from food and beverage processing or a closely related industrial sector.
  • Demonstrable experience managing customer accounts or providing ongoing field technical service in water treatment, process chemicals or a related industry.
  • Experience of coagulation, flocculation, clarification and solids separation, including DAF or comparable primary-treatment processes.
  • Experience conducting or supervising jar tests, chemical trials, sampling, dose optimisation and treatment-performance reviews.
  • Experience working with chemical storage, dosing pumps, controls and application equipment, including first-line troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret operational and laboratory data and produce clear, practical written recommendations.
  • A record of building strong customer relationships, maintaining account satisfaction and identifying appropriate opportunities for account growth.
  • Working knowledge of EU and UK trade-effluent consents, discharge compliance, COSHH requirements and safe chemical-handling practices, or the ability to develop this knowledge rapidly.
  • A full UK driving licence, the right to work in the UK and willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays.

Nice To Haves

  • 5-10 years of experience in industrial water-treatment chemicals, wastewater applications, technical account management or a combination of these areas.
  • Direct experience supporting food, beverage, seafood, meat, poultry, dairy, brewing, distilling, rendering or other high-COD industrial wastewater accounts.
  • Experience with chitosan, biopolymers, metal-salt coagulants, organic coagulants, polymers or related treatment chemistries.
  • A demonstrable record of retaining and growing technically complex customer accounts and converting successful applications into long-term commercial programmes.
  • Experience introducing new chemistry or treatment approaches into operating industrial sites through structured trials and close customer support.
  • Bachelor’s degree, HNC, HND or equivalent professional experience in chemistry, biology, environmental science, chemical engineering, water treatment or a related field.
  • Strong competence in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and experience using customer-relationship-management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day relationship with assigned customer accounts and act as the principal point of contact for treatment performance, service requirements and continuous-improvement activity.
  • Plan and complete regular on-site and virtual account-service reviews, ensuring agreed actions are documented, assigned and followed through to completion.
  • Work closely with plant operators, engineering teams, environmental personnel, procurement stakeholders and site leadership to understand operational priorities, compliance risks and business needs.
  • Assess industrial wastewater systems, operating data and discharge performance to identify root causes of poor treatment, process constraints and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct or supervise jar testing, sampling, dose optimisation, chemical trials and treatment-performance reviews, and translate the results into practical written recommendations.
  • Optimise coagulation, flocculation, clarification and solids-separation programmes to improve reliability, effluent quality, chemical efficiency, sludge generation and total treatment cost.
  • Provide responsive on-site and remote technical support, resolving treatment, dosing and application problems and escalating specialist issues when required.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing comprehensive training on Cesco products, safe chemical handling, correct dosing, routine monitoring and operational troubleshooting.
  • Inspect chemical storage, make-down, feed, pumping, control and application equipment; provide first-line troubleshooting and coordinate repairs, maintenance or specialist support as required.
  • Establish service plans and agreed performance measures for key accounts, monitor results over time and communicate emerging risks before they affect compliance or customer operations.
  • Prepare clear service reports, trial reports and account recommendations that explain findings, required actions and the operational and financial value delivered by the programme.
  • Protect account retention through dependable service, technically credible advice, prompt communication and consistent delivery against customer commitments.
  • Identify opportunities to extend or improve Cesco programmes within existing accounts, including additional treatment points, equipment, complementary chemistry and service support.
  • Develop and execute account plans that combine customer-service objectives, retention priorities and realistic sales-growth opportunities.
  • Support selected new-business opportunities through technical discovery, site surveys, water testing, trials, proposals and the transition from successful trial to a stable serviced account.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, including plant and facility executives, to support long-term partnerships and appropriate commercial development.
  • Actively promote and support Cesco and Tidal Vision innovations within assigned accounts where they address a verified customer need and strengthen the overall treatment programme.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, account plans, service activity, forecasts, opportunities and gross-margin information.
  • Work collaboratively with operations, laboratory, technical, equipment and commercial colleagues, communicating customer context, priorities, risks and support requirements clearly.
  • Be willing to travel regularly throughout the assigned EU and UK territory, normally around 50% of working time and potentially more during trials, start-ups or periods of intensive account support.
