The Accompanist Musician will provide music for all worship services, including Sunday AM services, Sunday PM services, and revivals. This role involves accompanying all choirs and supporting church singing units. The Accompanist Musician will also assist in introducing, teaching, rehearsing, and maintaining a well-prepared repertoire of music for public presentation. They will meet with the Pastor and/or Worship Committee to assist in the selection of suitable music and devise appropriate musical programs for all occasions. Additionally, the Accompanist Musician will attend and participate in regular scheduled rehearsals, assume responsibility in the absence of the Minister of Music to call special rehearsals when necessary, and provide accompaniment for special events including Church Anniversaries, Cantatas (at least once a year), retreats, and funerals. Travel may be required for overnight trips, with expenses paid. The Accompanist Musician will assist the Minister of Music in executing their duties and planning a yearly training event for the music ministry. Professionalism is expected, including punctuality (15-30 minutes prior to services/rehearsals), maintaining instruments and work areas, reporting equipment issues, continuous personal and professional growth through workshops/seminars, and dressing in appropriate attire.
