About The Position

This is a remote position. The Accident On-Call Coordinator will respond to and document accident and incident calls, ensuring timely reporting and escalation to the appropriate internal departments. This role involves direct communication with drivers, law enforcement, and other emergency personnel during active accident scenes. The coordinator will conduct timely investigations, gather critical information, and coordinate with insurance adjusters and third-party representatives. They will also arrange for hazardous materials cleanup and other emergency response services when required. Additionally, the role includes monitoring and responding to accident- and incident-related email communications, utilizing company systems (AS400, Tenstreet, and proprietary software) for documentation and reporting, and maintaining communication with drivers and internal departments regarding accident reporting and safety procedures. A key responsibility is reviewing accident details to determine the need for post-accident drug and alcohol testing and ensuring appropriate escalation. The coordinator must also identify and immediately escalate accidents involving critical injuries or fatalities in accordance with company policies. Accurate, confidential record-keeping and compliance with company policies and regulations are essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
  • Experience using AS400, Tenstreet, or similar transportation management systems.
  • Basic knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to remain calm and professional during emergency situations.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Safety, Transportation, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in transportation safety, fleet operations, claims administration, dispatch, or administrative support is preferred.

Responsibilities
