About The Position
The main function of an accessioner is responsible for processing laboratory samples. The candidate will work with other laboratory employees to catalog patient specimens, like blood, urine, or tissue, for analysis, mostly working with blood. Laboratory professionals carry out diagnosis and treatment based on the samples received.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 0-2 years of work experience.
- Proven attention to accuracy and deadlines.
- Proven ability to work well independently and within a team.
Nice To Haves
- AS or BS degree in biological sciences preferred.
Responsibilities
- Receives and triages all specimens for clinical testing.
- Manages clinical information within LIMS database and performs internal audits of clinical charts.
- Collaborates with various departments to ensure testing accuracy.
- Operate automated instrumentation under supervision if necessary.
