About The Position

The College/Unit of Curriculum and Instruction is seeking applicants for part-time job of Access to Schools Research Assistant. The successful candidate will be engaged in a research project investigating physical access to schools for children with disabilities in a portfolio-model school district. The role requires use of GIS software, familiarity with archival research, document and discourse analysis, knowledge of theoretical literature in disability studies, and understanding of school curricula in literacy education. The successful candidate will compile a dataset of charter, public, micro, and private school locations, map focal school sites relative to neighborhoods and transportation networks, analyze accessibility using publicly available geographic and transit data, analyze policy documents related to school restructuring, and collect archival sources to contextualize spatial patterns historically.
