About The Position

This is a part-time position in ER Registration. The location is Deerfield Beach, Free-Standing ED. The Access Representative will register patients by obtaining necessary and accurate financial and demographic information. They will receive, investigate and respond to various inquiries and questions in a pleasant and helpful manner. The role involves determining the financial status of the patient and/or guarantor, completing all financial/insurance related functions and signatures, and communicating with third-party payors to obtain insurance benefits and authorizations. The position also includes collecting money due from the patient at admission or prior to discharge in the ER setting, completing all necessary reports, and communicating with Case Management, Patient Financial Services, the Self/Pay/Medicaid eligibility Team, and all other departments when appropriate.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task

Nice To Haves

• Certified Patient Account Technician CPAT preferred, but not required
• Associate's degree preferred or process of obtaining one
