About The Position

Performs general administrative duties and customer service. Provides communication, information, assistance and coordination for all customer requests. Provides patient care support. Maintains excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • One year physician office, hospital patient registration or patient accounting experience

Nice To Haves

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent
  • Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and registering patients
  • Ensuring completion of required patient documents
  • Updating patient demographic, insurance and financial information
  • Providing copies of documents to patients
  • Scheduling patient appointments
  • Completing physician referrals
  • Assisting patients with questions and requests
  • Answering and directing incoming calls and secure messages via the EHR
  • Making appointment reminder calls
  • Verifying eligibility for services
  • Collecting payment amounts due
  • Organizing patient Outguides for next day appointments noting bad debt, authorization and other pertinent information
  • Balancing patient payments and money box on a daily basis
  • Couriers patient collections to the Business Office safe
  • Following established clinic policies and procedures, including confidentiality requirements as set forth by HIPAA and Adventist Health
  • Supporting an environment of teamwork, professional communication, excellent “customer service” and efficiency
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned
